What is a QLED television?

In the confusing world of TV acronyms, QLED and OLED are two that get very easily muddled - and it’s easy to see why! So similar are the terms that if you’ve only just started looking, you’d be forgiven for thinking it’s just a slip of the keyboard. But they’re not the same…or at least not entirely anyway.

Both technologies aim to significantly improve picture quality by adding more depth, vibrancy, and colour to your screen. QLED, which stands for Quantum Light Emitting Mode, does this using tiny particles called quantum dots to super-charge the vibrancy and power of the display. Whilst OLED – Organic Light Emitting Diode – uses self-emitting bulbs.
